Whilst there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a standard orangery roof, there are numerous merits to having an atrium roof instead. An atrium roof sits very tall within an orangery design and will bathe the interior with light throughout the day. Sometimes more commonly known as a lantern orangery, this atrium orangery is full of seated furniture so that every member of the family can relax in its sensational surrounds. That relaxation can continue into the night as downlighters have been placed into the perimeter ceiling along with some speakers so that music can be pumped into the space.
It would have been amiss not to have a set of folding sliding doors included in the orangery when there’s such a spectacular garden outside. When slid open they create a large opening, a nice contrast to the double opening provided by the French doors that connect the orangery to the interior of the house. We suspect that the conventional living area will be utilised less often than before because the orangery is such a special place to spend your free time. To shine a light on this outstanding orangery on the outside, two external copper wall lanterns have been fitted that emit a wealth of brightness and draw people’s focus to it after dark.
