The Steps Required To Find The Perfect Conservatory
When you come to the decision to add an extension onto your home you want to be sure that you get the best design and value for money. You should never take such decisions lightly as they need to be made with careful consideration and thought. It will be one of the biggest investments you can make so you need to follow the necessary steps to find what you want, at a price you can afford.
Quotes
Never settle for the first quote you receive. You should obtain at least three quotes from three different home improvement companies. This will put you in a position where you can bargain down the price as best as you possibly can. Only once you feel totally comfortable with your choice of installer should you agree to a deal.
Design
There are a whole host of conservatory designs available, some suiting certain homes more than others. Once you have visited a local showroom, seen the designs in person and spoken to an experienced installer, you should only then commit to one design.
Permission
If you live in a period home there is a small possibility that you will need to apply for planning permission from the relevant local authority. Any good installer should assist you in sorting this out and no form of work should be carried out until this has been granted as you could be ordered to pull the structure down.
Guarantee
Conservatories are like double glazing, in that they usually have a lifespan of around 20 years minimum. Your chosen installer should provide you with at least a 20 year guarantee which covers you should your extension fail you in any way during that time. This helps protect your investment.
Finding your home extension is made that bit easier when you carefully plan it out.
