Conservatory Price Increase in 2010
Proposed changes to building regulations in 2010 could add some thousands of pounds on to Conservatory Prices. Matthew Glover, Managing Director of Conservatory Outlet, says that if thinking about it, people should look to buy now before these regulations come into force.
The construction industry says that proposals in the draft consultation for the 2010 version of Part L of Building Regulations will see extensions to a property become more expensive for people looking to invest.
Consumers who are looking to build extensions could be forced to spend thousands more pounds improving the energy efficiency of the rest of their property under the new proposals. Matthew Glover believes the extra cost is likely to be anywhere around an additional £2,000.
These new regulations will cover Conservatories for the first time. This means higher carbon reduction targets which include electric heating, floor, wall and glass restrictions to make the conservatory more energy efficient.
Matthew Glover stated, “Conservatory Outlet retailers build their conservatories to a very high standard, virtually complying with building regulations. But the requirement to add to other areas of the property at the same time will undoubtedly increase the cost of the project.”
For those wishing to avoid the extra costs involved with the proposed regulations, then the only way to do so is to have their conservatory or orangery built before they come in to play next year.
With the construction industry currently at below capacity due to the ongoing recession and housing crisis, there are some great Orangery and Conservatory Deals to be had. We offer the chance to pay on finance, not having to pay for 12 months and keeping a the low price that we currently offer.
Planet South Lakes, a Conservatory Outlet dealer, is a manufacturer of double glazing windows, doors and conservatories.
