Christmas in the Lake District

The Lake District is a place where people can go and find something to do all year round. There’s plenty of different things to do no matter the weather. In fact, the weather isn’t something that bothers a lot of people.

If you like to get away for the Christmas period, why not head up to our neck of the woods here at Planet South Lakes. Although we’re only in Cumbria, you can still come to Cumbria and have a good time around Christmas and you can also go to the Lake District hot spots and have a good time with your family!

We’re going to list some of the things that you can do in the Lakes this December and Christmas time. Here goes!

Walking

This isn’t just a winter thing that you can do in the Lakes. This is something that you can do all year round but if the last few winters have been anything to go by, we’re more than likely going to get some snow.

If you’re planning on heading up one of the fells in the Lakes then you need to make sure that you’re kitted out properly for the trip. Now, if it snows too then you’re going to be in for a visual treat.

Attractions

There’s plenty of different attractions to go and visit in the Lakes, it just depends what tickles your fancy and what is open and when. Here’s some of the top attractions in the Lake District:

• The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness.
• The Aquarium of the Lakes – Lakeside Windermere.
• Cars of the Stars – Keswick.
• Pencil Museum – Keswick.
• The Lake District Coast Aquarium – Maryport.

Horse Riding

This is something that not a lot of people would consider doing but if you like to get out and about but want to save your legs, then horse riding is something you should consider.

You can take in the beautiful sights of the Lake District whether that is up on the fells, trotting through some farmland or galloping down the beach. There’s some fantastic things to see when you’re in the Lakes so why not do it all on horseback?
