3 Steps You Can Take To Entice The Summer Into Your House

3 ways of bringing summer into your home

We don’t get much great weather in this country, so when we do, like we have in recent weeks, it is important that you embrace it.

Being outside is obviously the easiest way to soak in the sunshine, but you can bring lots of sun into your living space, and you should look to do that as exposure to it is good for your health.

It provides us with Vitamin C, and you will have noticed that having natural light indoors often lifts your mood and makes you feel more positive about things.

If it’s quite dark in your house during the daytime, brighten it up with these 3 steps:

Clean your windows

When was the last time you cleaned your windows? We could be talking years if you don’t have a window cleaner. You want them spotless, inside and out, at all times, otherwise, how is the sun meant to get in?

The thickness of your curtains may block out a bit of light even when they’re open, so remove them for now and put up some thinner, lighter curtains for the summer.

If your internal spaces heat up too much in summer, we suggest getting energy efficient windows installed for more effective temperature control.

Install bi-folding doors

For a huge influx of light, look into having bi-folding doors fitted in the rear wall that connects your house to the outdoors.

You can create a huge opening with them, but they don’t even have to be open to draw in lots of light as they have door leafs with huge expanses of glass. The view through an open or closed bi-fold will be captivating.

They will really come into their own for ventilation, which is useful if your home gets too hot in a heatwave.

Add some nature

One of the best things about living in England is how much greenery we have, and we’ve come to appreciate it even more over the last year. However, you may not live near a green area or have a garden.

No problem. Just add nature to your house instead with the addition of different houseplants, such as succulents, orchids and ferns, putting them on show on countertops, floors and tables.

These houseplants will leave you with cleaner air as they do a fantastic job of eradicating any air pollutants. They can also help relieve stress and also make you feel like a happier person.
