2 Weirdest Things Found During Home Renovation
Every year, thousands if not millions of homes around the world undergo renovation and as is to be expected, there’s some pretty strange things found in these houses when they undergo their renovation.
Here at Planet South Lakes, we’ve tracked down two of the weirdest things that have been found during a home renovation.
Wall Dwelling Comic Books
David Gonzalez of Hoffman, Minnesota was remodelling his house when he stumbled upon a rather rare comic book.
He didn’t come across it in his basement or an old room he hadn’t used for a long time, no. He found it in his wall. When he bought his house for a measly $10,100, a rare, 1938 Action Comic #1 introducing a character called Superman isn’t a bad thing to happen upon.
Unbeknownst to him, it had been helping to keep him warm, along with the other newspaper and similar things. Mr Gonzalez said, when he found the comic book he knew it would be worth a bit of money but wasn’t too sure of just quite how much.
Upon getting the comic valued, you could say he was pleasantly surprised at the price he got back. The comic, being the first one introducing Superman was extremely rare and it was valued at $175,000. Not a bad find, eh?
A Ghostly Well
More often than not, people will find that they have a room or a part of their house that has a funky kind of dip in the floor and you’ll probably always wonder why it seems to dip there. Well, the only thing stopping you would be the laminate flooring or the carpet on top of the ‘dip’.
Well, a chap from Plymouth, Colin Steer had this same exact problem in his lounge. Well, one day he decided enough was enough and began to dig down. He then discovered a dirt filled brick shaft, or what you and I may know as a well. He was quickly made to fill the hole back in.
However, when he was happily retired, he decided to excavate the hole again and this time he found a 17ft deep well which is said to date back to the 16th Century and he also found a sword down there too!
