Double Glazing Means Cheaper Energy For At Least 20 Years
A letter from UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s senior policy adviser on energy and environment leaked to The Telegraph newspaper warns that current policies could add 30% to consumer energy bills by 2020. This will come as a serious blow to householders up and down the country as many are already struggling to meet the costs of expensive energy.
Though the government is planning to implement energy efficiency reforms such as the Green Deal in the coming years, many of these reforms will be out of the financial reach of people and they will have no other choice but to go without energy even when they need it most.
But this isn’t always the case as there is another available solution in the form of double glazing. You will be surprised to know that there are still thousands of properties in the UK which have yet to be double glazed and it is partly why so the price of energy is so substantial.
Because their windows are poor when it comes to insulation, homeowners with traditional windows compensate for it by turning up their heating further which results in energy wastage. Unless you do something about your windows and invest in better equivalents, you could be of the few who continue to be hard hit by expensive energy bills.
Double glazing will keep your property warm at all times so that you can be far less reliant on your boiler. This will bring down the cost of your heating bills and reduce your existing carbon footprint.
If we all pull together and make a conscious effort to replace all the windows in our home and invest in conservatories and orangeries, we can help preserve what’s left of the fossil fuels we have. This will be vitally important to the future of all our children and future generations.
